The Dayton Jazz Orchestra (DJO), heralded as the Dayton area's premier jazz
ensemble, presents the exciting sounds of modern and traditional big band music. The 16 piece jazz orchestra
assembled in October 1993 as a music reading ensemble, features some of the best musicians in the Dayton community playing
selections from the music libraries of Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Bob Mintzer, Rob McConnell, Duke Ellington and more.
Guest Artists appearing with the DJO have included Bobby Shew, Phil Woods, Diane Schuur, John Fedchock, Denis DiBlasio,
Norris Turney, Eddie Morgan, Everett Greene, Lester Bass, Maria Schneider, Slide Hampton, Bill Holman, Bob Curnow, Les Hooper,
Mulgrew Miller, Carl Allen, Cecil McBee, Don Braden, Terell Stafford, and Conrad Herwig.
The DJO presents concerts,
